Chad Orecchio
2022 Hall Of Fame Inductee - Chad Orecchio
Chad Orecchio is a graduate of John Glenn High School and Ohio University.
He has been
a teacher in the East Muskingum School District for 23 years where he has worked as an intervention specialist and school guidance counselor.
Chad became the head golf coach at John Glenn High School in 2000. Over the past 23 seasons, Coach Orecchio’s teams have compiled over 2,000 wins including a
441-81 record in the Muskingum Valley League.
During Chad’s tenure, John Glenn golf has won 11 MVLchampionships and has qualified for the OHSAA state tournament five times finishing 4th in 2014, and 7th in 2017.
Coach Orecchio has coached 4 All-Ohioans including Keith Cunningham (2000), Jordan
Wheeler (2014), Dylan Van Fossen (2015), and Bo Orecchio (2017). During Chad’s tenure at JGHS, 15 of his players have gone on to play at the collegiate level.
Chad has been instrumental in promoting junior golf by conducting a junior tournament at Wildfire Golf Club and the Cambridge Country Club raising over $10,000 in scholarship money for junior golfers over the last 23 years.
Coach Orecchio has served on the board of the Zanesville District Golf Association for the past five years, helping assist with the ZDGA Junior Tournament. Chad has served as golf director for the Muskingum Valley League, vice president of the Eastern District Golf Coaches Association, and currently represents the Eastern District on the state board of the Ohio High School Athletic Association, and has served as a rules official for the OHSAA State Tournament.
